President Bush Misleads the Public about Stem Cell Research

October 12, 2004 -- In the second Presidential debate, President George W. Bush said, Embryonic http://www.prweb.com/prfiles/2004/10/10/166767/FullStemCellArticle.doc [stem-cell research] requires the destruction of life to create a stem cell. I'm the first president ever to allow fundingfederal fundingfor embryonic stem-cell research. I did to because I too hope that we'll discover cures from the stem cells and from the research derived.

Even leaving aside the misguided rationale for this position, President Bushs resolution to the United Nations is unlawful because it does not have the approval of Congress.
